Our friends at Motorbeam caught the improved Volkswagen Polo testing near Pune. The car sports two essential features for the top-end model which it lacks now – steering-mounted controls and a nice stereo system.
Motorbeam claims the new top-end Polo will come with Bluetooth connectivity with steering-mounted answer button. The top-end Highline Polo is equipped well, but improving the equipment list is a good idea given Etios Liva, Honda Brio, new Suzuki Swift and Renault’ small car will be joining the pack later in the next eight months. We would like to see Volkswagen offer customers free initial service in the future.
This morning we discussed VW’ plans for the Polo facelift and platform off-springs.

now this puts me in a really tricky situation…for two weeks we whacked our brains and narrowed our choices to FIGO or POLO…although we felt that polo was short on features we still decided to go for it…but we cant wait for too long…i cud still go for it now if the new features are just the bluetooth and steering mounted controls thing…but wat bout the music system…is the current polo audio system not upto mark??…the new 1.6 diesel wud certainly be more expensive…but since they are actually conducting these tests isnt the upgradation a sure thing??…if yes then how long wud i have to wait…if i book one now wat is the waiting period?…if its too long then i might as well wait for the new upgradation…plz help fas!!…
I’m not sure Rohit. There is very limited information available at this point. I think VW might come out with the Polo during September-October. That’s my guess.
I have plans to buy a new car in 2-3 months time. Any idea when these features will be available in market?
not sure Anand, why not wait till the festive period? There are some cars coming here anyway like Liva, Brio, etc.
VW charges for each and everything. When I took delivery of my Jetta Comfortline last year the cars mud flaps where an option costing 10000 INR for four. Like this each and every thing no matter how small or cheap looking they will charge a lot. Even a general check up (just checking oil, brake fluid, coolant levels) costs nothing at other car dealerships costs five hundred. They loot their customers. Now I have taken a decision not to buy another VW car ever due to all these costs and lots of problems and also the company never supports it customers.
Jishnu,
You have bought the Jetta which is costing 18 lac + and you are complaining about 5 k.
The general check up costs you nothing. The first service comes in Jetta at 15000 km or 1 year which ever is earlier.
You cannot compare the price that you pay for any Maruti getting services to a VW service. It’ll definitely cost something. Maintenance of something valuable is equally pricey.
