The new mantra for Indian Automobile companies seems to be – ‘Small is Money’. After the huge surge in the hatchback market, Mahindra&Mahindra wants to take the fight on an entirely new level. M&M has been testing a compact version of its successful MPV – Xylo for a year or more now.
Sure, we have spied it countless number of times on the Indian streets. But the big news is that the little MPV is now entering the trial production phase. EconomicTimes is also reporting that the Mini Xylo will be launched in the next 2 months. The price range expected for this baby MPV is around 5-7 lakh rupees. It is expected to have a very fuel efficient diesel motor under the bonnet.
It would be certainly interesting to see whether this unique product from M&M is able to make a considerable dent on hatchback and compact sedan sales in India.

Hi, From the beginning of Xylo era, there is no much talk about Xylo’s style & look.
Most of the buyers are not satisfied with the front grill (look) part. There is a so many reviews stating only about the Xylos look & Style. Its a successful vehicle only because of the engineering part, the performance & And main rival for Toyota’s Innova.
Now the mini xylo if comes with XUV500 style, i hope & am damn sure that, this vehicle will destroy the other counter part segments. And it will create the new history.
How Hyundai’s New Fludic Design made the new revolution in their vehicle.
Mahindra also can do the revolution by adopting the XUV500 Design for all their vehicles.
XUV500 Style is unique and its simple superb and Its attracted the Indian Customers. That is the reason, mahindra have got overwhelm response & around 8000 Bookings for XUV500 with in a week period.
Hence, my sincere request & suggest to mahindra is please do the style changes in upcoming Mini Xylo(XUV500) as good as xuv500.
Thanks n Regards
Thimmaiah
Totally agree with you sir…imagine a mini XUV500 or say a XUV 250 in the price range of 5-7 lakhs?

will not it look like the wagonR? will be able to attact people only if the FE and other features are very good. otherwise it may fail to take market because of its look.
will not it look like the wagonR? will be able to compete with diesel hatchbacks only if the FE other features are very good. otherwise it will not be attract people due to its shape.
its just an oversized wagon-R according to me!!
aah! the mini xylo, v can call it the “ugly duckling”
Looking at the Xylo, one gets a feeling it is only designed for people obsessed with space.
Now comes the Xylo mini. Mahindra needs to do some serious work as far as the styling and the interiors are concerned. Space never being an issue with any of their cars, if they don’t take care of these elements, considering the highly competitive hatchback market, there will be a serious dent in this segment for them.
