Spotted during its test runs on the Mumbai-Pune expressway, the Maxximo passenger van is production ready. Out in the market its prime enemy will be the best-selling Tata Ace Magic van. With a more capable engine, more comfort and handful of additional features, we predict this mini van will land a powerful punch.

We’re not going to talk about the character line or the pulled-back headlamp as this commercial vehicle won’t be helped along by aesthetic touches. What matters is under the skin – a 2-cylinder CRDI engine generating 24bhp and works with drive-by-wire technology, handy when the van is overloaded. The spacious 7 seater will have powerful load-sensing braking and an attractrive price tag of 3 lakh rupees or slightly more.

The winner here is the Tata Magic. It is another trend setter following the Ace.

Looking forward to see all the 3 wheeled Tuk Tuks being replaced with these 4 wheelers which are safe, stable, confortable.
