WOW! As more and more information is disclosed about the new Hyundai Verna, we are getting really excited about the launch. Hyundai has now released the engine specs of the new Verna which has appeared on publications that were present at the media drive held recently in Dubai.
The car will be offered in 4 different engine options. They are:
• 1.4 Litre MPFI Petrol Engine with 106 Bhp-135 Nm of torque
• 1.6 Litre Gamma MPFI Petrol Engine with max power of 122 Bhp-156 nm of torque
• 1.4 Litre CRDI Diesel Engine with max power of 90 Bhp-224 Nm of torque
• 1.6 Litre CRDI Diesel Engine with max power of 126 BHP and max torque of 265 Nm
This means that if the Hyundai Verna is launched in the price bracket of 9-11 lakhs (as speculated), it will be the ‘Most Powerful’ Sedan in its segment.
This ‘Most Powerful’ card was earlier pulled by the Chevy Cruze and it successfully dethroned the Honda Civic in that segment.

The vehicle shown is the new Accent RB or Verna. It has not been launched here in Canada yet. We have rec’d the Sonata and Elantra and they are now becoming best sellers. The Verna is vastly improved. Hyundai is becoming a force to be reckoned with here. Perception has changed greatly. God Bless You All!

This is the 2011 Hyundai Elantra in the US which may come to India as Hyundai Avante or Elantra. Hyundais are the best vehicles to own. They have been awarded several accolades in terms of reliability, engine quality, build quality and design. Fuel economy is unmatched.
Suhail this is not the all new Elantra this is the Verna RB concept.

I live in the US and I see it everyday. Plus the new Verna RB is nothing but 2007-10 Hyundai Elantra US version with a different front and rear end.
The 4 speed auto transmission will be the death of its AT offering. Aor MT this looks good. VEnto still seems to have best AT offering for price bracket with a six-speed AT

Hyundai will indeed dethrone the Cruze. The Cruze has suffered in India due to the Chevy badging.
And, the RB does look like a killer product.
