Woody's car site has carried an interesting story on the 2012 Honda CR-V. The blurry image (believed to be a highly accurate impression) might not give you insight into the design language of the new CR-V that debuts this fall, but it certainly conveys the overall shape doesn't differ by much.
Here's what we already know about the 2012 CR-V
The next generation CR-V will have a good level of content sourced from developing countries like India and China to shave costs.
The new CR-V (codename 2WS) will arrive with an all-new 4-cylinder gasoline engine producing 180 – 220 horsepower. A hybrid variant is planned for the Japanese and American market.
The incoming model will be marginally shorter (4,535mm x 1,820mm x 1,685mm as opposed to the current model’s 4,575mm x 1,820mm x 1,680mm (L*W*H respectively) ) and slightly more fuel economical.
Honda needs to rethink its India strategy with the new CR-V. A fresh design, cleverly thought-out pricing and a diesel engine might put an end to the menace of the Toyota Fortuner and BMW X1.
