Since the beginning of 2011, we’ve planned a lot of additions and new activities for Indian Autos Blog. In line with that intention, we’re planning to organize regular meets to engage with our readers in the real world and extend the experience over a cup of coffee.
It need not only be Indian Autos Blog readers but car and motorcycle enthusiasts in general. We could all sit down together and talk about our experience with wheels. We’ll have a special guest from the auto industry among us. We could discuss the cars of tomorrow and organize ourselves into groups for a few rounds of an auto quiz. The possibilities are endless as likeminded people don’t have to try extra hard to have a good time.
As usual, we’d like to hear your thoughts.
Our plan – To go from one city to another and carry out this event.
So,
1) What would be a preferable location for this event? For example – A coffee house, the beach, a park, etc.
2) Would a Sunday afternoon be a good time for such an activity?
3) Apart from an auto quiz, what events would you like us to conduct?
4) How can we make the meet interesting?

Yes, it is indeed a good idea. You guys must work on a bloggers meet in Mumbai.
It’s a really nice idea and I’ll be in for the Chennai session of it, pretty interesting actually.
We could have the meet at a coffee shop with some person from the Auto industry, as you said and quizzes in a meetup might sound a bit odd imo.
We could discuss automobiles over coffee, share some lighter moments and maybe, if you could, get as all some goodies from some auto company![And an IAB T Shirt too] We’ll just be glad.
Great idea Shrawan sir, I am following your blog since an year or so and till now been satisfied by the news on both indian autos blog and indian motos blog as well. I am a frenzy car and bike maniac and always wanted to participate and interact in such events coz I live in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh which is around 600 km from delhi so I find it hard to get a moto loving guy like me, every year dozens of people take my advice before buying a new/old car or bike, I also want to express my thoughts and too have a bunch of questions to query. I virtually visit every showroom when a new car/bike is launched. If such event takes place I can even come to Delhi also.
my suggestions are that
1.we can put a zero hour in which people can personally ask questions before buying a car or bike
2. tips on how to self examine there car and bike if a fault is doubted so that these mechanics cant befool them.
its a great idea… will surely love to attend it…. regarding the suggestions:
1. the preferable location for this event can be a club with ample ground.. I am from Chandigarh,, we have lots of clubs here.. the ground would mean. people can also be asked to bring their modified bikes/cars or any imported cars/bikes.. dirt racing, or may be a go karting race can also be held…. a treasure hunt can also be arranged for the participants…..
2) i guess the best day would be Saturday.. cos most of the people have sat and sun off,, so this means that if an event is held on sat, the person will have sun to relax…
3.) and 4.. suggestions given in 1st point only…
A garage i believe is an ideal location for a meet irrespective of the state or city. Eagerly awaiting on your plans IAB.. Keep them coming…
Yes would love an IAB meet – in Chennai
. For the sad sacks who have a day job pls keep it during the weekend. Also please do a vote with some multiple options for dates and also probably some easy to access locations as well withenough parking for the attendees

A city wise meet would be great! Many will definitely turn up..
1.) A preferable location would be any huge place with good parking space so that readers can display their rides!
2.) A sunday afternoon would be the most perfect time!!
3 & 4.) We can have something like ‘Best modified cars and bikes’.

When i was interested to know “what is happening with Automotive Industry, I have searched a lot for information provider. Finally i got into IAB, From the day i read every e-mail i receive from IAB. Let me have a chance to meet endowed peoples of IAB.

My every morning doesn’t start with a newspaper but with your email. Automobiles especially cars is a big part of me and am really interested in this new idea, what an idea sirji. Place and programs have to vary from state to state. First create groups or community in a particular state and then ask how they want to do things. There can be a group get together every month, travel to some destination and things like that. But I would strongly recommend that alcohol should be banned in these get together. Safety first!!!
I am a regular reader of IAB… and follow the blog quite religiously. I will love to be a part of this meet, however the location needs to be considered with respect to people from the country as a whole… So that readers can participate from throughout the country.
But i give a Thumbs up for this idea…
