Utilizing fresh spyshots of the Mahindra World SUV (Internal codename - W201) that cropped up on the internet, Shoeb R Kalania has formulated a speculative image on the production model.
The side profile clearly shows the bulky nature of this SUV. Design idioms from the Scorpio or Bolero don't feature on this next generation Mahindra. The design language is entirely new. The rear shows a slight similarity with the Chevrolet Captiva, but remember this is only a speculative drawing. Certain kinks and lines will remind you of the Xylo, but there's no drawing comparisons as this is a premium SUV built to compete in Fortuner land.
Mahindra will offer the 2.2-liter CRDI engine from the Scorpio under the hood of the W201. To make up for the added weight, the engine will give out more power and torque. Mahindra desires to become one of the world's finest UV manufacturers, and it shows through when you understand the effort that's gone into the W201. This will be the company's first vehicle utilizing a monocoque construction (unibody construction).
Mahindra will offer all kinds of gear on the W201. The W201 will match feature with a feature to the Tata Aria, the price range the W201 should fall into. Mahindra could immediately offer it in South Africa following the local launch.
