Nissan requested us not to call this the Micra sedan and you understand why immediately after you've seen the spy shots.
Nissan's V-Platform sedan's interiors have been brought to you before along with our indicative impressions. But here's one very close to the real deal. We mistook it for a leaked shot, and upon close inspection discovered it was nothing more that a photoshop gimmick.
Nissan's Sunny (as it will be called in China where it debuts this year) has nothing in common with the Micra on first glance. Common parts between the hatch and sedan is abound, but to the naked eye, they will be poles apart. When you step inside the relationship gets evident. However, the sedan is likely to have a comfortable back seat and the rear occupants will enjoy more legroom and perhaps even an AC vent.
The Nissan V-Platform sedan will have a 1.5-liter diesel engine and 1.6-liter petrol engine capable of delivering anything in the range of a hundred horsepower. There is no information on the automatic transmission, but it will appear on the menu in due course of time. The V-Platform sedan is likely to pitted against the Honda City and Nissan will offer many features like the Start-Stop button, key-less entry and climate control on the sedan when it hits India in the last part of 2011.
