Fiat_Linea_T-Jet-indiaThe Fiat Linea Mk II (unconfirmed) will get improved paint finish, NVH and drivability

The revamped version of the Fiat Linea was caught testing by chaps at Motoroids. The improved Linea will address complaints customers have registered since the time the car went on sale in January this year.

The new Linea will produce lesser vibrations, thanks to new engine mounts. The ECU has also been tweaked to return better gas mileage. The gear ratios have also been altered to generate better torque (better low speed drivability?)

Inside the Linea, front seat frame has been tweaked, and durability issues in the dashboard plastics, seat lever and the boot release lever are now sorted. Sound insulation, it seems, has also been improved especially on the diesel variant.

The bonnet for the new variant (1.4 T-jet) and the existing one will use a new mechanism. The Air conditioning unit has also been fine tuned to operate producing less noise. The paint quality also seems to have been looked into and Fiat could give the Linea a glossy finish by applying lacquer coats.

We expect this Linea to be present at the Auto Expo next year in blue color.

  1. [...] Spied while testing on the Pune – Shirdi highway by our reader Tarun Kumar Tripathy, this appears to be a normal Fiat Linea right until you pay close attention to its exhaust tip. Unlike normal Fiat Lineas, this temporary registered Fiat Linea, that seems like a test mule, possesses a chromed oval exhaust tip. While normal Lineas have no exhaust tip, their tailpipe also folds away downwards at the end. The spied Linea’ tailpipe is perfectly straight. [...]

so many improvements with in 1yr of launch! They say they test the cars for lakhs of kms and this happens with in an year of launch.
Any way good move in the right direction FIAT as there are other manufacturers which do not even bother about them.

Even punto needs these improvents and especially the sound dampening thing!!

Why they do cost cutting like these…I dont think indians wud mind to pay extra for quality(see i20 and i10,though being pricier, sell more than the competition)

And whats with present customers..??they feel cheated as they have been treated as guinea pigs!!
