Yamaha launched the highly anticipated new Fazer here today, which is the scaled down version of the internationally acclaimed Yamaha FZ1 sans the powerful 1000cc R1 engine.
The new Fazer shares its underpinnings and the same 153cc, 14Bhp engine of the naked-bike sibblings – FZ-16 and the spiced up FZ-S.
For a price of Rs.72,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) the new Fazer comes down to being a simple equation of FZ-16 + a Half-fairing + Bigger muscular rear tyre on 17″ alloys.
The bike comes in four colours – Midnight Black, Electric Blue, Lava Red and Flaming Orange.

this kamal n other some peoples don’t know anything about engines,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,cc is the capicity not power of engine while bhp is the power,,,,,,,,n torque is the power measurement,,,,,,,,,,,,,150cc fazer has 14.6bhp power n its go 132,,,,,,,while karizma r has 223cc engine but power is only 17.6bhp n its go 122,shame on hero honda engine which need 223cc capicity to provide 17.6bhp power while yamaha provide 17.6bhp power in 150cc of R15 its just show the power of yamaha japanese engine.

fazer is nice bike than honda stunner but stunner is best in price compare to fazer and stunner is one of the best bike making company that is HONDA
Surely they must have provided high tank capacity and a must thing is the rear disc brakes.The bike is too expensive for even TVS apache which has more facilities than Fazer 150 is only RS.64,000 and also apache is 180cc whereas fazer????? Waste of money when seen economically.
cool but it would be more cooler if the specification slightly change from 150cc to 250cc and 14bhp to 20 or 22bhp. n else liquid cooled four cylnders and who could forget nitros with which help it will just talk to air and let the price be 1.5 lakhs , but i think guys will love it. and last but not original yamaha fazer 1000cc bikes sitting styles and tyre in it and rear disk and front double disk

I dont think so that we will be able to see an affordable bike in India In coming 1 or 2 years. Reason being that the taxes o the higher end bikes are more in india.
LET ME TELL ALL OF U ONE THING i am a mechanical engg and i Work in a XYZ company(cant disclose the name) but! we are 2nd largest automobile manufacturer in world.
IN India homologation is a big issue.
I explain
In India we cant manufacture a 150cc bike more that 17bhp. And many more irrelevant laws makes it very difficult to manufacture a complete bike.
In Europe R15 is of 21bhp but in india it is just 17bhp.
But yamaha is driving all of us angry by producing bike all in 150cc segment that too with such high price. Atleast they should have given a rear disk in fazer for a chnage .
Talking about kawasaki ninja 250r it will be priced above 2 lakhs. But bike still dont worth 20k as it does not have a v engine, produces 27bhp( even RD 350 is 30 bhp) no up side down front shocker. These compnies are just taking advantage that we dont have any other substitute.
I have royal enfield thunderbird and 220 fi. Now have a budjet of Rs 3 lakh but dont have any bike in this price range. I would preffer a comet over ninja in term of performance.

ahh this bike has dissapointed, yamaha is following the strategy of indian manufacturers. Look at this bike a middle finger to the r15 and fz16.

F another 150cc. yar i dont know when these people will understand that we want bigger bikes, higher bhp, higher torque. We were always angry on bajaj that they launch 150cc then 180cc then 200cc then 220cc. But yamaha has gone one step up 150(R1) then 150(FZ) then 150(FZS) now 150 fazer. In INDIA we have bikes of price range 45000 to 1 lakh then a sudden jump to 10 lakh. where one should go with a budget of 2 or 4 lakh. Where are 250cc or 400cc bikes???????????????????
I think in near future yamaha will add full fairing, high-tech brakes and make the vehicle price go up to Rs 1.5 Lakhs.
I think there will be another version from Yamaha based on FZ-S in the next 6 – 8 months to upbeat the Apache RTR 180 FI version. Yamaha please increase the engine cc not just the dress.
