500hp Audi R8 GT3 Racer with RWD powertrain

The Audi R8 GT3 from Audi’s motorsport division was announced for use in next year’s GT3 series, at the Essen Motor Show in Germany.

The Audi R8 GT3 is purely based on the Audi R8. which has been recently launched in India, has been designed for private customer teams and fully conforms to the production-based GT3 regulations, which means they will be allowable in numerous national and international competitions.

The Audi R8 GT3 named ‘R16’ within Audi’s motorsport division and has undergone all the possible testing. ABT Sportsline, a very famous German tuner, has worked closely with Audi in developing the Audi R8 GT3.

Suspension remains untouched; Aerodynamics altered and weight reduced

The Audi R8 GT3 is rear wheel driven different to the All wheel drive Audi R8, as GT3 rules prohibits AWD. The Audi R8 GT3 employs a freshly developed six-speed sequential sports gearbox which is more advanced than the R8′s. The vehicle’s suspension has not been upgraded, while most of the concentration was on discarding weight and lessening air-drag. A modified front end and a large rear-wing improve the aerodynamics of the car, which is capable of speeds of well over 200 mph.

IAB Comment- Audi claims up to 8 Audi R8 GT3 models will be built for customers to enjoy on track days. It will most likely not reach India, but if you are hell-bent on buying one, maybe you should contact Audi and let them know about it in advance
