The Wagon R was primarily conceived as a K-car for the Japanese market.T his car was eventually brought to India and has been a success. Suzuki decided to give the Wagon R a small change to keep it fresh. It is called the ‘Stingray’ (not to be confused with Corvette ;-) ) .

In a nutshell the new Wagon R is now based on a new platform where the stability has been largely improved thanks to a longer wheelbase as well as the overall quietness of the vehicle. As far as the design is concerned, Suzuki rework our Wagon R headlamps and front bumper. It sports a modest 660cc turbocharged engine with either a 4/5 speed Auto-box or CVT.The extended wheelbase will generate much needed interior space and the new wagon R does look quite good.

So, will it come to India? Well, IAB had earlier reported that Maruti is preparing to launch new cars with a bang and so this might just make it after all once the A-Star and Splash make it. The only thing to consider will be how we Indians will take to this design after getting used to the likes of the Swift and the SX4
