The KTM 125 Duke is arriving at dealerships across India and several KTM dealerships have commenced deliveries across the country.

The KTM 125 Duke is the most powerful, feature-rich and expensive motorcycle in its class.

Bookings are underway at 450 dealerships across the country for the baby Duke. According to dealers, the 125 Duke has received a good response from first-time buyers and will pave the way for KTM to establish its reach among the masses. With the KTM 200 Duke accounting for over 2,500 units per month, KTM India could be looking at similar numbers from the 125 Duke.

The KTM 125 Duke is not the 'average Joe' in the 125cc motorcycle segment. It features an equipment list that isn’t seen in its class, and some in a rung higher. For instance, it is the only bike to receive USD forks, race-derived trellis chassis and a high-compression liquid-cooled engine.

The 124.7cc, DOHC, fuel-injected motor on the KTM 125 Duke pumps out 15 PS (11kW) and 12 Nm. The motorcycle is offered in three colour options - Orange, Black and White. While it doesn’t have direct competition, the Yamaha R15, Bajaj Pulsar NS160 and the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, that are from a segment above, are indirect rivals.

The Indian-spec KTM 125 Duke is identical in design to the KTM 200 Duke but features different graphics. It is the only bike to feature single-channel ABS, even when the safety norms mandate CBS (combi-braking system) for motorcycles below 125cc.

In spite of being a single-channel ABS unit, it features the ABS ring on the rear disc along with the RLP (rear-wheel lift protection) sensor, which bars the rear tyre from lifting up during panic braking. At INR 1.40 lakh (on-road Mumbai), it sure is the most expensive 125cc bike, but the performance equipment is second to none.
