The era of the blue smoke may have passed, but Classic Legends have retained the retro styling, and they get full marks for that. The new Jawa motorcycles are a marriage of classic styling with modern hardware such as BS-VI compliant motor and ABS to comply with the latest safety and emission norms.

Both, the Jawa Classic and Jawa Forty-Two use the same engine and feature dual-sided exhausts. Mechanical specifications include a 293cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, four-valve, BS-VI compliant fuel-injected engine. The motor churns out a maximum power of 27 bhp, peak torque of 28 Nm and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox.

A single 280 mm disc up front with floating calliper and a 153 mm rear drum brake performs anchoring tasks, while the safety net of single-channel ABS is available as standard.

The Jawa is available in three colour options – Jawa Maroon, Jawa Grey and Jawa Black – while the Jawa Forty-Two can be purchased in two metallic colours – Comet Red and Starlight Blue – and four matte paint schemes – Hally’s Teal, Galactic Green, Lumos Lime and Nebula Blue.

Currently, Classic Legends is accepting the bookings for Jawa motorcycle via the website for a token amount (fully refundable on cancellation) of INR 5,000. The dealer-level bookings and test rides would commence from December 15 while the deliveries would start from January 2019.
