The 2019 Bajaj Pulsar 150 ABS will feature an engine belly fairing, new graphics and a revised instrument console.

According to a report dated 5 December, Bajaj Auto is expected to update the Pulsar range with ABS in early 2019. The new safety norms by the Government of India, mandates all the existing and new two-wheelers above 125cc to be equipped with at least a single-channel ABS unit as standard before the next fiscal year.

Apart from the introduction of ABS, the 2019 Bajaj Pulsar 150 will feature new graphics and an engine belly fairing. The 2019 Bajaj Pulsar range is likely to feature a single-channel ABS unit with an RLP (rear-wheel lift protection) sensor at the back. We don't expect changes to the mechanicals or the engine.

Powering the 2019 Bajaj Pulsar 150 ABS model will be the 149.5cc, single-cylinder DTS-I motor. The carburetted engine is tuned to produce 14 PS of power and 13.4 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 5-speed transmission.

Bajaj Auto has already launched the Pulsar 150 Neon Edition, while the updated Pulsar range (non-ABS models) has started reaching dealerships as well. It is internally working on the development of BS-VI compliant powertrains for the next-generation Bajaj Pulsar series due in early 2020.

The current Bajaj Pulsar 150 retails at INR 74,634 (ex-showroom Delhi), and we expect the ABS model to cost not more than INR 10,000 over the existing version. The Pulsar 150 ABS will compete with entry-level 150cc segment bikes Yamaha FZ FI, TVS Apache RTR 160 and the Honda CB Unicorn.
