The updated Bajaj Pulsar 220F has started reaching dealerships across the country. Youtuber Dino’s Vault has released a first look video of the new 2019 Pulsar 220F (non-ABS model). The 2019 Bajaj Pulsar 220F features redesigned graphics and a new engine belly cover.

Bajaj Auto is currently road testing the Pulsar 220 ABS model, which should be launched separately in early 2019.

The Bajaj Pulsar 220 has a strong brand recall, mainly because of its design, performance and VFM positioning. Such is the pull that Bajaj Auto sells around 10,000 units/month of the 220 in India. The company hasn’t changed the looks since its introduction in June 2007.

The 2019 Bajaj Pulsar 220F continues with the tried and tested 220cc, single cylinder mill that makes 21 PS of power along with 19 Nm of peak torque. The carburetted, oil-cooled engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox. The free-revving engine and the linear power delivery adds to the overall riding pleasure of the 220F.

Despite the introduction of the more advanced Bajaj Pulsar NS200, the Pulsar 220F continues outselling the newer bike. Part of the success goes to the VFM pricing of INR 97,446 (ex-showroom Delhi). The Pulsar 220 was the first mass-market motorcycle to feature disc brakes at both the ends, and it continues to date.

The Bajaj Pulsar 220 competes with the Yamaha Fazer 25, Hero Karizma ZMR and the Honda CBR250R to some extent. Bajaj Auto is also working on the next-gen Bajaj Pulsar range, which reportedly will witness an introduction of the flagship Pulsar 250. The new Pulsar family is anticipated to be introduced in early 2020 around the time of the BS-VI emission norms enforcement.
