The Skoda Superb Sportline, which could be only days away from its market launch, was recently spotted entirely uncamouflaged by Team-BHP user Dr Naren. The new model is currently listed on the company's official website with a ''coming soon'' tag.

Internationally, the RS versions from the company have been the performance-oriented iterations of its regular models. On the other hand, the Sportline trims have been focussed on delivering a sportier styling package. Similarly, the India-spec Skoda Superb Sportline features a host exterior and interior upgrades that impart a sporty touch to the aesthetics.

The Skoda Sportline features a black trim that replaces all the chrome appliques on the car' exterior. Furthermore, a blacked-out roof adds to the sporty appeal. At its front-end, the grille and the headlamps feature a gloss black trim. Highlights of the side profile include a black trim around the DLO and on the lower section of the doors. The ORVM caps get a similar treatment and the new model rides on multi-spoke 19-inch machined alloy wheels. The rear gets a discreet boot-lid spoiler in the same black finish. A 'Corrida Red' paint scheme will be offered exclusively on the new variant.

On the inside, the Skoda Superb Sportline carries an all-black colour theme. The regular front seats have been replaced with sports seats draped in Alcantara upholstery with contrasting red stitching. Furthermore, the cabin gains sporty aluminium pedals, brush aluminium skid plates, and faux carbon-fibre trim on the dashboard.

The Skoda Superb has been available in two engine variants - 1.8-litre TSI petrol and 2.0-litre TDI diesel. The former offers a maximum power of 180 PS. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG unit. The latter produces a maximum power of 170 PS and comes mated to a 6-speed DSG. The Sportline variant is unlikely to introduce a new configuration. However, it may feature a sports chassis that lowers the ride height.

The Skoda Superb is a Honda Accord- and Volkswagen Passat adversary that has a monthly sales average of 146 units (April 2018 - September 2018). The advent of the Sportline version as the new flagship trim, along with the recently launched Corporate Edition, should enable the D2-segment sedan to find more buyers during this festive season.
