Zigwheels reports that the 2019 Ford Figo (facelift), which has been spotted testing on numerous occasions, will be launched in India by March 2019. The Blue Oval's entry-level hatchback will reportedly offer the same engines and features as the recently introduced 2018 Ford Aspire (facelift) with the mid-cycle update.

Visually, the 2019 Ford Figo (facelift) will be similar to the export-spec new model.

The most prominent detail of the revised styling package will be the new mesh front grille with chrome surround. The bumper will be new, too, and will carry C-shaped chrome appliques on the corners. The side profile will remain untouched, save for the introduction of new alloy wheels on the top-end trim. At the rear, the new model will likely feature an updated bumper with a sportier look.

On the inside, the 2019 Ford Figo will have an updated dashboard similar to that of the Ford Freestyle. Thanks to the advent of the touchscreen infotainment systems, the centre-console will have a much cleaner look. While the mid-range trims will feature a 7.0-inch FLY infotainment unit, the top-end model will feature a 6.5-inch SYNC 3.0 infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The high-end trims will have a push start-stop button near the instrument panel.

Powering the 2018 Ford Aspire (facelift) will be a new 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine from the Dragon engine family, replacing the 1.2-litre four-cylinder unit of the current model. It produces a maximum power of 96 PS and a peak torque of 120 Nm. This engine will send power to the wheels via the new Getrag MX65 5-speed manual transmission, which should lead to weight savings of 15 kg.

The top-end variant will be propelled by the 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine from the EcoSport. With a maximum power of 123 PS and a peak torque of 150 Nm, it is significantly more powerful than the four-cylinder motor it will replace. The current six-speed dual clutch transmission will be replaced by a six-speed torque converter unit. The 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine will be retained.

All the variants of the 2019 Ford Figo (facelift) will offer a larger standard safety net, which will include dual front airbags, rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD and front row seatbelt reminder (SBR). The top-end model is likely to offer six airbags and an emergency assistance service.
