The 2018 Datsun GO (facelift) was on display at the GIIAS 2018 last month. Here are the India-bound model’s images from the Indonesian auto show.

The 2018 Datsun GO features minor design changes. At the front, the entry-level hatchback sports new radiator grille inserts, new headlamp clusters, reshaped lower air intake and a more aggressive bumper with vertical LED DRLs. On the sides, Datsun has introduced new ORVMs with integrated turn signals and new 14-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, it has a sportier bumper and washer & wiper now.

The Datsun GO has improved on the interior with the mid-cycle update. There’s a new dashboard with a lockable glovebox, redesigned centre console and a new instrument panel with a tachometer. One other change is the introduction of a 6.75-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

On the safety front, while one would appreciate Datsun offering a driver airbag as standard, front passenger airbag still isn’t available. The Indian-spec version could have some structural upgrades apart from other features to meet the more stringent safety norms applicable from 1 July, 2019.

The old Datsun GO was available with only a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine producing 68 PS at 5,000 rpm and 104 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm, in conjunction with a standard 5-speed manual transmission. Now the Go is available with a 78 PS version of this engine paired with a CVT as well. It remains to be seen what Datsun has in mind for India for the automatic transmission.
