Indian Autos Blog learns that the second generation Isuzu MU-X, spotted on test locally since July, is about to receive a facelift in India. Likely to launch before mid-November, the 2018 Isuzu MU-X (facelift) will carry several styling updates. Moreover, it will reportedly feature a 1.9-litre turbocharged diesel engine that will replace the 3.0-litre motor.

The Isuzu MU-X facelift made its debut in February 2017, three months before the MU-X was launched in India.

The 2018 Isuzu MU-X (facelift) will feature a handful of styling updates for its exterior, including LED headlamps with LED daytime running lights (DRLs), a bolder front grille, stylish multi-spoke alloy wheels, and updated tail lamps with an LED light guide. The interior, at most, will get an upgraded centre console with a cleaner layout for the buttons. The biggest highlight will be the introduction of an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system to replace the current version's 7-inch touch unit.

Currently, the Isuzu MU-X is on sale with a 3.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that outputs a maximum power of 177 PS and a peak torque of 380 Nm. Internationally, however, the MU-X is on sale with two engine options - 1.9- and 2.5-litre turbo-diesel motors. The 1.9-litre unit outputs 164 PS and 360 Nm.

The 2.5-litre motor, on the other hand, produces 136 PS and 320 Nm. India is reportedly getting the smaller of the two oil-burners in a BSVI-compliant format. The India-spec 2018 Isuzu MU-X will be available with a 6-speed automatic transmission and 4WD.
