Just months after launching the 530, India-bound SAIC’s Baojun brand is gearing up to introduce another SUV in China. The company has released design sketches of this upcoming model as its first teasers.

The new Baojun SUV is codenamed 'Baojun CN210S', and it will likely slot below the Baojun 510 which was introduced in March 2018.

The new Baojun SUV looks like a concept, or maybe the drawings are of the early stages of the design. Elements certainly going into production include the wide hexagonal radiator grille, the two-tier front light setup with high-mounted LED daytime running lights and headlamps positioned in the middle section of the bumper, the sturdy rectangular wheel arches, the high beltline and the sharp character lines. The high-positioned, flattish hood lends an aggressive stance to the SUV.

According to a report from autohome.com.cn, the new Baojun SUV is internally known by the codename ‘Baojun CN210S’. Currently, Baojun sells two SUVs: 510 and 530. The 510 is a small SUV (like Hyundai Creta), while the 530 is a compact SUV (like Hyundai Tucson), as per the classification in the Chinese market. There's no word on the positioning of CN210S, but the name and dimensions suggest that it will slot below the 510. The new 5-seat SUV will use the N15T engine and a dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The Baojun CN210S should debut later this year, and it may go on sale in early 2019. In India, the Baojun brand will have an indirect presence with a modified version of the 530 C-SUV that SAIC Motor will launch under the MG brand in the second quarter of 2019 (April-June 2019).
