The Mahindra U321 is undergoing what appears to be its final road testing runs with the least camouflage/cloaking yet. GaadiWaadi has posted spy shots of the MPV showing its design details of its front-end.

Mahindra will offer the U321 in 7- and 8-seat versions.

As IAB had depicted in a rendering last year, the Mahindra U321 features the signature toothed grille flanked by swept-back bi-beam headlamps and a large, rakish windshield at the front. The test mule is in a shade of maroon and equipped with six-twin-spoke alloy wheels. Mahindra has purposely designed the U321 as a traditional MPV.

An all-new unibody platform underpins the Mahindra U321. It will employ an all-new 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine that delivers maximum power in the region of 130 hp. This engine is expected to come paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. Mahindra has promised a petrol engine option for all its future models, but there’s no word on that matter in case of the U321. The company could look at the circa-140 hp 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder unit that will debut in the Mahindra S201.

The Mahindra U321 will likely come packed with the best features Mahindra has to offer in its models, such as projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, automatic climate control, rear air vents, multifunction steering, touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation and Android Auto support and more.

The Mahindra U321 will slot in a price range within the Maruti Ertiga, which is due for a full model change this year, at the low end, and the Toyota Innova. M&M will offer it in 7- and 8-seat versions, likely with a starting price of around INR 10 lakh.
