New spy shots taken by Kartik Jetly and shared on Autocar India reveal the interior, specifically the dashboard, of the India-spec 2018 Maruti Ertiga. The second generation of the MPV made its debut in Indonesia in April and is expected to go on sale in India in August 2018.

The cabin of the new Ertiga features a Maruti Swift/Maruti Dzire like flat bottom steering wheel, automatic climate control, and a touchscreen infotainment system.

Much the dashboard layout is identical to the Indonesia-spec Suzuki Ertiga. However, there are subtle differences between the two. The touchscreen appears to be bigger. It will almost certainly by the 7-inch Smartplay unit seen in the current model and multiple Maruti products. The India-spec model also gets automatic air conditioning, the controls for which replace the manual AC knobs present in the Indonesia-spec Ertiga. The seat fabric is different as well and the steering wheel lacks faux wood trim.

The variant seen in the images here features an automatic transmission, likely to be a 4-speed torque converter paired with a new 1.5 L K15B petrol engine. The same engine will power the upcoming Ciaz facelift as well. A new 1.5 L diesel engine is in the pipeline, but it will not arrive until next year. At the time of launch, the 2018 Maruti Ertiga will have the same 1.3 L DDiS 200 diesel engine as the current model.

The second generation Ertiga brings with a comprehensively overhauled exterior, which is dimensionally bigger and sports an all-new design. It is 99 mm longer and 40 mm wider than the current model. However, it sits on the same 2,740 mm wheelbase. The front gets double barrel headlamps with projector units, which may get LED lighting. At the back, the MPV gets L-shape tail lights, which may feature LED detailing as well. The small black portion on the C-pillar gives the car a floating roof effect.

A new petrol engine will power the Maruti Ertiga. This 1.5 L unit will produce around 105 PS and 138 Nm and is likely to pair with either a 4-speed AT or a 5-speed MT.

Scheduled to launch in August 2018, the new Maruti Ertiga is expected to be a slightly more premium offering than the model it will replace. According to a previously published report, the  2018 Maruti Ertiga could be sold through the Nexa sales channel. However, these claims are yet to be officially confirmed. Prices are expected to fall in the INR 7-11 lakhs (ex-showroom) bracket.
