Soon after the 2018 Maruti Ciaz (facelift)’s exterior, images showing its interior have surfaced online, courtesy GaadiWaadi. As expected, the mid-cycle refresh has brought only minor changes to the car’s interior.

Unlike the pre-facelift Maruti Ciaz, the facelifted Maruti Ciaz features cruise control.

Like the old Maruti Ciaz, the new Maruti Ciaz has a dual-tone interior in a combination of beige and black. The latter features new faux wood trim that is in a lighter shade. Maruti Suzuki has added cruise control feature with the mid-cycle refresh, and its controls are on the right spoke of the steering wheel, like the S-Cross.

The 2018 Maruti Ciaz features a revised instrument panel. The speedometer and tachometer have blue needles, similar in colour to the diesel Smart Hybrid variant. This is an indicator of the addition of mild hybrid tech to the petrol variant. The MID between them is also new, positioned lower now for better visibility. Another improvement is the availability of headrests for the rear seat occupants. The non-touch double-DIN audio system in the centre console suggests that the interior is of the Delta or Zeta grades.

On the outside, the 2018 Maruti Ciaz features a sharper design at the front and some small changes at the other angles. The revised front-end comprises sleeker upper grille, chrome bonnet garnish, reshaped headlamps, inverted lower air intake and more aggressive bumper with chrome details. On the sides, there are new alloy wheels. At the rear, the refreshed model has tweaked tail lamps.

The 2018 Maruti Ciaz is said to come with a new 1.5-litre petrol engine instead of a 1.4-litre petrol engine. No details about the new petrol engine are available, but a possibility is that it is the 2018 Suzuki Ertiga’s K15B unit that produces 104.7 PS and 138 Nm of torque. For improved fuel efficiency, Maruti Suzuki will offer the SHVS mild-hybrid system in the petrol engine model. The Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre diesel engine will get replaced by a Suzuki-developed 1.5-litre diesel engine only next year. The facelifted Maruti Ciaz will reach showrooms by July 2018.
