2018 Hyundai Santro (Hyundai AH2) spied testing
Hyundai is yet to officially announce the name of the AH2 (codename) hatchback.

The upcoming Hyundai hatchback will sit between the Eon and the Grand i10. It will be bigger and wider than the Santro the company has already confirmed. A closer inspection reveals a hooded instrument binnacle and earlier shots show seats similar to the Hyundai i10. The test mule has steel rims with plastic wheel covers. The turn indicator placed on the front fender is identical in shape and colour to the pre-facelift Hyundai i10.

Underpinning the AH2 will be the first generation Hyundai i10's platform. It will, reportedly, employ a revised version of the Hyundai i10’s 1.1-litre iRDE2 four-cylinder petrol engine producing around 70 bhp and 100 Nm of torque. Hyundai has confirmed that their AMT tech, that has been developed in-house, will make its debut with the AH2. There is unlikely to be a diesel option.

The Hyundai AH2 will be aimed at the Tata Tiago and Maruti Celerio. Entry-level and mid-level variants could be price positioned to rival the Renault Kwid 1.0 and Maruti Wagon R. According to estimates, the hatchback will have a starting price of around INR 3 lakhs (ex-showroom).
