The 2018 Pulsar looks more premium than the earlier generation bike, thanks to the new bits and bobs.

While Bajaj is yet to give an official statement about the launch, here are five things we know about the motorcycle.

  • Bajaj has essentially draped the clothes of the existing Bajaj Pulsar 180 on the 2018 Pulsar 150. The bike now features new graphics as well, whose pattern is akin to the Pulsar Black Pack Edition. The front fender bears a distinct decal that says ‘Twin Disc’, indicating the presence of disc brakes on both ends.
  • The engine misses out on the kick lever. The current-gen 149cc DTS-I engine generates 14 PS at 8,000 rpm and 13.4 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. Transmission is a 5-speed unit. Though Bajaj has not shared the official specs, expect the 2018 model to employ the same mill. The final chain drive is now exposed, which makes the bike look more youthful.
  • The front end comes with a fatter 37mm fork, and the rear continues with the twin Nitrox shock absorbers setup. Brakes include both front (260 mm) and rear (230 mm) discs, as opposed to the front-disc-rear-drum combination in the older model. The brand has done away with the rear tyre hugger as well. There is no ABS, even as an option.
  • The analogue-digital combo cluster has undergone a mild refreshment. It now features a white dial and carbon fibre-like finish around the edges. Instead of the single piece unit, the seats are of split type, with split grab rails, just like the Pulsar 180. This also gives the bike a sportier appeal.
  • The Indian brand has reportedly priced the bike at INR 91,147, ex-showroom, Delhi; and bookings are open. This makes it INR 2,347 more expensive than the previous generation Pulsar. Bajaj has not updated the bike in its website yet. However, the company says it will offer both the models at present.
