Bajaj Auto registers a 2% drop in April-February 2018 Year To Date sales

The motorcycle sales of Bajaj Auto in the domestic market from April 2017 to February 2018 Year To Date (YTD) has witnessed a drop of 2%, with 18,15,590 units.

Last month, the Bajaj Auto sold 1,75,489 units in the domestic market, and exported 1,22,025 units. This translates into 23% domestic growth and 19% export growth when compared to the same month last year. The total motorcycle sales growth stands at 21%, with a tally of 2,97,514 units. The manufacturer’s commercial vehicle business has recorded a stellar growth at 111% in February 2018 compared to the same month last year. The sales tally stands at 60,369 units including domestic and export.

The YTD numbers of the export business has witnessed a double-digit growth at 14%. The Pune-based manufacturer sold 12,83,805 units in April-February 2018. The total YTD numbers including domestic and export of two-wheelers stand at 30,99,395 units, growing by 4%.

Bajaj also aims to grab its share in the 110cc commuter segment, with the new 2018 Discover 110.

Last month, the brand launched the Bajaj Avenger 180 Street, replacing the Avenger 150. The new bike’s only rival in the sub-200 cc cruiser segment is the Suzuki Intruder 150. In the same month, Bajaj also launched the Racing Red colour variant of its full-faired motorcycle, the Pulsar RS 200. The company also showcased the adventure-touring version of the Pulsar NS 200 and the Police version of the Dominar 400 at the Motobike Istanbul show in Turkey.
