Toyota has announced that the 2019 Toyota RAV4 will have its world debut at the 2018 New York International Auto Show. Along with the announcement, the company has dropped the first teaser of the all-new compact SUV.

The teaser image gives a glimpse of the 2019 Toyota RAV4’s profile, revealing some design differences from the outgoing model. The fifth generation model appears to have a less sloping, higher-positioned hood for a tougher look and a more rakish back glass for a sportier design. Its profile is reminiscent of the Toyota FT-AC concept that was introduced at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show.

The next-gen Toyota RAV4 will ride on the TNGA platform, which already underpins the Toyota Prius, Toyota C-HR, Toyota Camry, Toyota Avalon and Toyota Auris now. Reports have been stating for a while now that Toyota could offer it with the latest Toyota Camry’s 2.5-litre conventional petrol engine and the latest Toyota Camry Hybrid’s 2.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor. Toyota is yet to reveal any details, though.
