The Kawasaki Vulcan S is one of the most affordable mid-capacity cruisers available in the Indian market, at INR 5.44 lakhs ex-showroom. The bike is available only in Flat Ebony colour. Kawasaki assembles the Vulcan S at its Chakan plant in Pune.

The motorcycle comes with an optional ergo fitment feature which includes adjustable foot pegs, handle and seat. This package helps in customising the riding position as per the customer’s needs. The Kawasaki Vulcan S draws power from a 649 cc parallel twin DOHC mill with liquid cooling and fuel injection. It produces 61 PS of power at 7,500 rpm and 63 Nm of torque at 6,600 rpm. The engine mates with a 6-speed transmission. Kawasaki Ninja 650 uses the same engine as well, but is slightly more powerful.
