TVS motorcycle sales up by 37.3% in November 2017

TVS Motor Company has registered a year on year sales growth of 12% for the month of November. Total sales grew from 224,971 units in November 2016 to 251,965 units in the month of November 2017.

Total two-wheeler sales recorded a growth of 11.1%, with sales going up from 219,088 units in November 2016 to 243,323 units last month. In the domestic market, the company witnessed a growth of 6.1%, from 191,499 units in November 2016 to 203,138 units over the same month this year. TVS' scooter sales grew by 7.2% year-on-year from 73,135 units to 78,397 units in November 2017. In the motorcycle segment, the sales went up by 37.3% from 67,896 units in November 2016 to 93,202 units in November 2017.

The Company's total exports grew by 43.8% from 32,829 units registered in the month of November 2016 to 47,207 units in the same month this year. Two-wheeler exports grew by 45.7% growing from 27,589 units in November 2016 to 40,185 units in November 2017.

TVS recently launched its flagship performance offering, the Apache RR 310 to cater to the premium motorcycle segment. The company claims it is the second largest brand in the Sports segment in India. The bike comes under the Apache RR sub-brand, which is a supersport segment. On the other hand, the Apache RTR sits in the naked segment. The RR 310 sees direct competition from the KTM RC 390 in the single cylinder 300 cc sports bike segment.
