Renault Captur spotted at a dealership ahead of launch this week - Report

The Renault Captur has started reaching dealerships in India, images published by CarDekho show. Renault will launch the new SUV on 6 November, 2017.

The Renault Captur is available with two engines: 1.5-litre H4K petrol and 1.5-litre K9K dCi diesel.

The Renault Captur is 4,329 mm long, 1,813 mm wide and 1,619 mm tall, and has a 2,673 mm wheelbase. It uses the Renault Duster’s B0/Logan platform as its basis. The SUV offers best-in-class ground clearance of 210 mm. There’s 392 litres of boot space, which is expandable to 1,352 litres.

Two engine options are available: 1.5-litre H4K petrol and 1.5-litre K9K dCi diesel. The petrol engine produces 106 PS at 5,600 rpm and 142 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The diesel engine develops 110 PS at 4,000 rpm and 240 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm. The petrol engine model pairs with a 5-speed manual transmission, and the diesel engine model has a 6-speed manual transmission.

The Renault Captur will sit above the Renault Duster as Renault’s flagship SUV in India. Renault will offer a slew of premium features in the SUV, including full-LED headlamps with floating side indicators, LED DRLs, 17-inch alloy wheels, ripple tail lamps, Infinity instrument cluster, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and voice recognition and Arkamys-tuned sound system with four speakers and two tweeters. Also, buyers will have a slew of personalisation options, including roof decals, ORVM covers and body decals.

The Renault Captur competes with the Hyundai Creta in India. Its prices will likely range from INR 11-15 lakh* (ex-showroom).
