IAB’s in-house designer Shoeb R Kalania has rendered a bigger-capacity Avenger, called the Bajaj Avenger 400, based on the Dominar 400’s powertrain.

The Bajaj Avenger 400 would be ideal for cruiser enthusiasts who are looking for something as powerful as the Dominar.

It was reported this month that a bigger-engined Bajaj Avenger is on the cards; and a new Avenger variant will reportedly be launched by March 2018. Based on speculation, the Bajaj Avenger 400 is rendered. The motorcycle features a headlight nacelle similar to the Harley-Davidson Street 750. The flyscreen would help in reducing the rider fatigue by improving aerodynamics. While the single pod instrument cluster displays the speed, the tell-tale lights and fuel-gauge are on the tank-mounted display. The well-cushioned seat is low for easy access, and comes with a pillion grab rail. The lighting systems are all-LED.

Powering the Bajaj Avenger 400 is a 373.3cc single cylinder engine with liquid cooling and fuel injection. The powerplant punches out 35 PS of power at 8,000 rpm, and 35 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. The engine transfers the power using a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch.

The front end features a beefed-up 43 mm telescopic forks with gaiters; and the rear comes with twin gas-charged shock absorbers. Brakes include disc on both ends, with dual-channel ABS. The Bajaj Avenger 400 if materialises, will be the flagship product under the Avenger range. It would lock horns with the UM Renegade Classic and Commando, and Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500.
