FCA has revealed the 2018 Jeep Wrangler’s first images. The all-new Jeep Wrangler will have its world debut at the 2017 LA Auto Show on 29 November, 2017.

The fourth-gen Jeep Wrangler (codename: Jeep JL) is an evolution of its predecessor, which arrived in January 2006. FCA has revealed the SUV in Rubicon and Unlimited Sahara models, confirming that the new Wrangler is made in 2-door and 4-door versions. The company will offer a slew of configurations once again, with different door, top and windshield combinations.

In its fourth generation, the Jeep Wrangler retains its familiar character with the boxy body, round headlamps, 7-slot front grille, squarish windows, trapezoidal fenders and square tail lamps. Changes are there all around the body, though. Consider the SUV’s front portion, for instance, where the upright grille has a notably backwards-leaning upper portion, the headlamps have new graphics, there are LED daytime running lights on the fenders and the turn signals have moved to the fenders.

On the sides, designers have taken into consideration that it’s 2018 now, and have made refreshing tweaks accordingly. The doors are still plain and basic, but the beltline running along the profile gives them a little more contemporary look. There’s a small vent in the convex surface behind the front fender now. The v-shaped steps are also new to the Wrangler JL. From the sides, on the Rubicon model, we can see that the A-pillar is fixed and the windshield folds down separately.

A leaked order guide had revealed recently that the 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited would sell in Sport, Sahara and Rubicon models at launch. It suggested that all three will have the 3.6-litre VVT V6 petrol engine as standard at launch. 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol and 3.0-litre V6 diesel engines should follow later. The all-new Jeep Wrangler will hit the U.S. market in early 2018. It is unlikely to arrive in India before 2019, as the RHD version’s production will reportedly start in June 2018.
