Expect the 2018 version to be more capable off-road than the outgoing motorcycle.

The teaser image shows the frontal portion of the fairing. The motorcycle looks similar to the Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports Concept which the Japanese bike maker showcased at the 2016 Osaka Motorcycle Show. The bike features the same white, red and blue paint combination. The body panel holding the 3D logo gets brushed metal instead of the plastic one in the current model. The bike also comes with a taller windscreen, fairing guard, and handle bar guards- all of which are available as accessories in the current bike.

The motorcycle rides on knobby tires for better off-road ability; and is likely to be equipped with a bigger fuel tank for greater range. The current generation Honda Africa Twin employs a 999.11 cc twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. It generates 87.1 bhp of power at 7,500 rpm and 91.9 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. The engine works in tandem with a 6-speed dual clutch transmission with two modes- ‘D’ and ‘S’. The former enables fuel-efficient riding while the latter offers better performance, with three different shift patterns to choose from. In the international market, a 6-speed manual transmission is also available. Expect the 2018 version also to come with the same two transmission choices.
