The Yamaha XSR900 belongs to the Japanese brand’s Sports Heritage product family. Authentic design elements like the circular headlight and tail lamp; muscular fuel tank with riveted tank cover, and drilled headlamp stays make it a proper neo-retro motorcycle. The multifunction digital instrument cluster also follows the circular theme.

The XSR900’s engine is an in-line three-cylinder DOHC unit with liquid cooling and fuel injection. The powerplant produces a peak power of 116 PS at 10,000 rpm and 87 Nm of torque at 8,500 rpm. The engine mates with a 6-speed gearbox with assist and slipper clutch. The bike features Yamaha’s D-mode with three throttle maps. Switchable Traction Control, immobiliser and ABS are standard as well.

Upside down front forks and rear monoshock handle the suspension responsibility. The motorcycle comes to a halt using twin 298 mm dual discs with radial callipers at the front; and a single disc at the rear.

Yamaha’s off-road motorcycle the YZ450F, in its third generation features a plethora of changes to make it faster, lighter and handle better. Yamaha has blessed the bike with an all-aluminium bi-lateral beam frame, bigger KYB speed-sensitive upside down front fork and a stronger, lighter rear monoshock.

The Yamaha YZ450F sources its power from a 449cc single cylinder DOHC engine with liquid cooling and fuel injection. The engine works in tandem with a 5-speed transmission. Yamaha has tuned the powertrain for optimal power delivery, but the company has not specified the power and torque output. The bike’s unique feature is the new Power Tuner which can tune the engine’s characteristics using a smartphone app.

For lighter weight, the bike comes with a lithium-ion battery as well. The motorcycle weighs 111 kg, wet. The Yamaha YZ450F costs 1,015,200 Yen (MSRP) in the Japanese two-wheeler space.
