Tata Nexon waiting period stretches to 6-8 weeks - Report

The newly launched Tata Nexon has a waiting period of 6-8 weeks reports BW Businessworld. The company is anticipating 10,000 bookings for the compact SUV within a month of its launch that took place on September 21.

After the Tiago, the Nexon is expected to be a significant volume driver for Tata Motors. The company seems upbeat about achieving strong numbers as the demand for SUVs continues to rise. The Maruti Vitara Brezza and the Ford EcoSport, along with the Honda WR-V have been reporting strong numbers month after month and the Tata Nexon is likely to follow suit.

The Tata Nexon petrol range starts at INR 5.85 lakhs ex-showroom Delhi for the base XE trim. The fully loaded XZ+ petrol with the dual tone exterior colour option retails for INR 8.60 lakhs ex-showroom Delhi. Prices of the Tata Nexon diesel range from INR 6.85 lakhs for the XE trim to INR 9.45 lakhs ex-showroom Delhi for the XZ+ dual tone trim.

Tata offers the Nexon with features like keyless entry, push-button start, automatic climate control, 6.5-inch touchscreen with Andoird Auto smartphone integration, and projector headlamps to name a few. Safety features like ABS, dual front airbags, and ISOFIX child seat anchorage points are standard across the range.

There are two engine options to choose from - 1.2 L Revotron petrol and 1.5 L Revotorq diesel. Both come mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The petrol variant has a peak torque output of 170 Nm while the diesel outputs 260 Nm. Maximum power churned out by the two variants is the same at 110 PS. AMT variants will be added to the lineup before the end of the current fiscal.
