New Triumph Tiger teased; to debut on November 7

Triumph has released a teaser video of its updated adventure motorcycle, the Triumph Tiger. The bike will debut on November 7, 9am CET at the 2017 EICMA show in Milan, Italy.

Going by the glimpses of the bike in the video, the New Triumph Tiger follows a design scheme that is similar to its elder brother, the Tiger Explorer. The distinct front beak, large windscreen and the tank extensions are reminiscent of the bigger bike. The twin headlamps feature LED DRLs. The tail light and the indicators are LED as well.

The instrument cluster is fully digital, and is akin to the one in the new Street Triple. Triumph has updated the switchgear as well. The illuminated switchgear now comes with a joystick for menu navigation, apart from mode button, cruise control and heated grips. The handlebars come with knuckle guards as well.

Powering the new Triumph Tiger is an updated 800cc inline three engine. In the current generation motorcycle, the engine punches out 95 PS of power at 9,250 rpm; and 78 Nm of torque at 7,950 rpm. Expect Triumph to increase the output figures. The engine mates with a 6-speed transmission which transmits power to the wheel via a chain drive.

The new Triumph Tiger rides on spoke wheels with knobby tires. Holding the front wheels is a pair of upside down fork. The rear features a monoshock. An aluminium bash plate protects the bike’s undersides. Brakes include twin discs at the front and a single disc at the rear. Expect more details about the upcoming motorcycle at the show.
