New Hyundai Verna receives record export order from the Middle East

Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) has received an export order 10,501 units of the new Verna from the Middle Eastern market. The Middle Eastern market includes countries like Saudi Arabia, Oman, and UAE where the sedan is sold as the Hyundai Accent.

HMIL has announced that the new Verna (New Hyundai Accent) has received an initial export order of 10,501 units from the Middle Eastern market.

Commenting on this record initial export order of 10,501 units Mr. Y K Koo, MD & CEO- Hyundai Motor India Limited said

The Next Gen VERNA has received overwhelming response from domestic and export markets. We are very happy and proud to receive such a large single export order within one month of showcasing the product to the distributors from overseas markets.  It is in perfect harmony with Hyundai’s commitment of ‘Make in India, for the world’ and also is in line with the Indian Government’s ‘Make in India’ Vision.

HMIL will also export the 2017 Hyundai Verna to South Africa and other Gulf and Asian countries 2018 onwards.

According to September 2017 sales figures, the 2017 Hyundai Verna sold 6,054 units edging out the Honda City (6,010) and Maruti Ciaz (5,603) in the domestic market.

In the domestic market, the new Hyundai Verna has been received rather well clocking 18,600 bookings and more than 1,43,000 enquiries in just two months since its launch in on 22 August 2017. In September, the Verna outsold its chief rivals Honda City and Maruti Ciaz registering sales of 6,054 units. HMIL plans to ship 20,000 units of the new Verna to customers before the end of December at the current introductory prices.
