Skoda Kodiaq’s specifications leaked ahead of October launch

The Skoda Kodiaq’s specifications for India have leaked online ahead of its launch on 4 October, 2017. Team-BHP reader Athul Benoy has shared a specification sheet of the SUV, revealing most of its key technical details.

The Indian-spec Skoda Kodiaq is 4,697 mm long, 1,882 mm wide and 1,665 mm tall, and has a 2,791 mm-long wheelbase. It offers a ground clearance of 188 mm. The Skoda Kodiaq is internationally available in 5- and 7-seat versions. India will get the 7-seat version, which has 270 liters of luggage space. The luggage space is expandable to 630 liters on folding the third-row seats and 2,005 liters on folding the second-row seats too.

The Indian-spec Skoda Kodiaq is powered by the 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine that produces 150 PS from 3,500-4,000 rpm and 340 Nm of torque from 1,750-,3000 rpm. This engine is paired to the 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. The fuel economy figure is marked at 16.25 km/l. Skoda does have more powerful, 132 kW (180 PS) 2.0-litre TSI petrol and 140 kW (190 PS) 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine options for the Kodiaq internationally, but it’s unknown if any of them are a part of the Indian launch. There’s no word on the availability of a 4x4 system either.

Skoda should offer the Kodiaq in India with features like full-LED headlights with LED DRLs, LED fog lamps, 18-inch alloy wheels, LED tail lamps, three-zone Climatronic air conditioning,8.0-inch Amundsen touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and SmartLink+ for Apple CarPlay Android Auto and MirrorLink and Area View system with surround-view cameras. The three-row SUV will compete with the likes of Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner and Isuzu MU-X.
