IAB reader snaps the Mahindra KUV100 NXT on test in Chennai

Vignesh Sha has spied the facelifted Mahindra KUV100 testing in Chennai. It is reported to be called 'Mahindra KUV100 NXT', and expected to go on sale next month.

From previous spsyshots, we saw the test mule featuring tougher restyled bumpers that will increase the overall length to 3,700 mm. Other changes expected include faux skid plates, tweaked headlamps, clear lens tail lamps and a new toothed grille similar to that of the Mahindra Genio. Top-end models will ride on new 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. This test mule shows a new rear spoiler that extends to the tailgate.

Inside, the KUV100 NXT will continue to offer 5- and 6-seat options, although the former will be produced only on a made-to-order basis. It will feature electrically folding ORVMs, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with MapmymIndia navigation, remote tailgate locking/unlocking, rear parking sensors and new info display in the instrument cluster, as per reports.

Under the hood, the Mahindra KUV100 NXT is reported to pack updated versions of the G80 1.2-litre petrol and D75 1.2-litre diesel engines, expected to offer improved fuel economy. For reference, the current KUV100 has a fuel economy rating of 18.15 km/l (petrol)/25.32 km/l (diesel). It will also feature new engine mounts and better insulation for lower NVH.
