2018 Mahindra Scorpio (facelift) spied next to the current Scorpio
Aravind Jayachandran, It goes without saying that I'm a huge petrolhead and can apparently convert all my driving emotions into words you can read.
Motor Octane has acquired spy shots of the 2018 Mahindra Scorpio parked next to the current version, giving an idea of the changes made. Although the test mule is heavily wrapped, a few differences are perceivable. M&M has confirmed that the updated Scorpio will reach showrooms this year.
The front fascia features a slightly redesigned grille with bolder chrome inserts and a new bumper with vertical slats in the radiator grille. Top-end models will ride on 16-inch alloy wheels with a 5-spoke design similar to the current version. The rear-end of both vehicles hasn’t been snapped, but expect small changes like bumper restyling, revised taillamps and repositioned badges.
The interior design is likely to be identical to the current Scorpio, but expect an updated colour theme, upholstery and trim, as well as a newer 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, EcoSense and Connected Apps picked from the 2017 Mahindra XUV500. Expect a set of jump seats for the third row as well.
Under the hood, reports claim that the 2018 Mahindra Scorpio will output 140 bhp (up from 120 bhp) from the 2.2L mHawk 4-cyl turbodiesel motor. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and the new 6-speed Aisin AT in the facelifted Scorpio. However, it will not come with Intelli-Hybrid technology.
