With the Toyota Camry revamped this year, the next sedan in the queue for renewal is the Toyota Avalon. The next-gen Avalon is expected to launch as an MY2019 model next year. Carscoops has published a speculative rendering of the 2019 Toyota Avalon for an early preview of the expected design.
The Toyota Avalon will enter its fifth generation next year. Toyota has already begun testing the redesigned model on the U.S. roads. As depicted in the rendering, the 2019 Toyota Avalon is expected to look bolder and more aggressive at the front, thanks to sharper headlamps and a wider and angular lower grille. The current model already has a well designed sleek greenhouse that has gained acceptance. So, the next-gen model may not have extensive changes here. Spy photos have shown the ORVMs repositioned, fitted on the door panels now.
The next-gen Toyota Avalon will ride on the TNGA modular platform. Introduced with the latest Toyota Prius, this platform now underpins the Toyota C-HR, as well as the latest Toyota Camry. Improvements in stability and handling and increments in the cabin space are expected as a result. Toyota will reportedly offer the 2019 Toyota Avalon in 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol, 3.5-litre V6 petrol and 2.5-litre hybrid (petrol-electric) models.
The 2019 Toyota Avalon’s launch timeline is not available yet. It could debut at a major auto show in the USA in H1 2018 and go on sale in the second half of the year.
