Federal Moto is a custom motorcycle builder based out of Chicago, Illinois, USA. The company has built a custom Royal Enfield Continental GT called the ‘Grand Trunk Express’.

The Grand Trunk Express is based on the 2014 Continental GT.

As the name suggests, the bike takes inspiration from the Chennai-Delhi Grand Trunk Express, one of the oldest trains operated by the Indian Railways. The paint job is dedicated to the Indian Railways as well. The blokes at the workshop have stripped the 2014 Royal Enfield Continental GT to its bones and given it a neo-retro theme. For starters, they have replaced the stock fuel tank with the one from the Honda CB360. The rear subframe is a custom unit which holds the quilted leather seat. A monoshock unit has replaced the rear twin shocks.

The circular custom headlight sits between the lowered forks. The low-set clip on handlebars with subtle switchgear is from Posh Japan, while the analogue-digital instrument cluster is from KOSO.

Federal Moto has draped the engine in satin black with hand-brushed aluminium covers. The fuel injector is replaced with a Mikuni performance carburettor from Bengaluru-based Indimotard’s Greasehouse Customs. The exhaust gets internal baffling with black heat-wrap and a drilled stainless steel heat shield. The black spoke rims are shod with Metzeler Lasertec tyres. The front and rear disc brakes are stock, but the brake lines are from Goodridge. The rear ends with a LED tail light and a short fender.
