Royal Enfield Classic Desert Storm ‘Indori’ by KR Customs

Royal Enfields provide a versatile platform for customising and the Indian custom motorcycling scene is a true testament to this fact. One of the fine examples is ‘Indori’ from Chennai-based KR Customs.
Krish Rajan, the founder of the custom house is an IT professional and bike-builder. His team comprises of a father-son-duo (Suresh and his dad) who were former Royal Enfield mechanics with 35 years of experience under their belt. After recruiting the two, Krish set up shop with minimalistic equipment- a lathe machine, a gas welder and a pipe bender to be precise. Then they set on their journey of building the bobber.
They chose a Royal Enfield Desert Storm for the job. True to the Bobber tradition, the bike is stripped to its bare essentials. The front end gets a complex yet interesting girder-type suspension, and disc brake with relocated calliper. The drag bars, peanut tank and single pod headlight gel well with the vintage bobber design.
The rear fender is chopped and indicators are mounted at the rear suspension points. The skinny single seat and the exposed mechanicals give it a steampunk flair. The bend pipe is heat-wrapped and ends in a slash-cut black exhaust. The spoke wheels look retro, with fat tyres on both ends. The bike’s name comes from the city of Indore. Krish grew up in the city and hence ‘Indori’.
