The bike was showcased by David Pieris Motor Company Limited, Bajaj’s authorised distributor in Sri Lanka. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox with slipper clutch. The claimed top speed is 148 kmph.
The bike features 43 mm front telescopic forks and a multi-step adjustable rear monoshock. The 320 mm front disc and a 230 mm rear disc are linked with ABS. The 17-inch alloys are shod with 110 section rubber at the front and a 150 section tyre at the rear. The bike weighs 182 kg kerb, and comes with a 13-litre fuel tank. The Dominar 400 costs LKR 990,000.
By March 2018, Bajaj expects the Dominar 400 to sell 10,000 units a month, including domestic and export markets. The brand is also planning to enter five new markets this financial year. Speaking about overseas markets, in June 2017, the Dominar 400 was launched in Turkey. This month, Bajaj also partnered with Triumph to make a range of mid capacity motorcycles.
