The Yamaha FZ25 or the new 250 cc naked motorcycle based on it should replace the Yamaha Fazer 250.

Yamaha has neither confirmed nor denied its plans to launch the Yamaha FZ25 in Brazil. It has said that several international models are tested in Brazil to see how they perform in local conditions. It's unknown whether the FZ25 or a market-specific model based on it is planned for Brazil. Whichever the case, it will likely replace the Yamaha Fazer 250 in the country.

The Yamaha FZ25 measures 2,015 mm in length, 770 mm in width and 1,075 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 1,360 mm. Its seat height is 795 mm and it offers a ground clearance of 160 mm. The FZ25 is powered by a 249 cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine which produces 20.9 PS and 20 Nm of torque. The FI engine is paired to a 5-speed transmission. The Brazilian-spec FZ25 or FZ25-based Fazer 250 should get a flex-fuel engine.

The Yamaha FZ25 is equipped with 282 mm (front) and 220 mm (rear) disc brakes, LED headlight, LED tail light, LED brake light and digital instrument cluster. It has telescopic front forks with 130 mm travel, and a monoshock with 120 mm travel at the rear.
