The next-gen Dacia Duster (2018 Renault Duster) made a spy photo appearance in Romania this week ahead of its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Now, Auto Plus has illustrated the 2018 Dacia Duster in production guise on its 14 July, 2017 magazine.

As in this depiction, the next-gen Dacia Duster has a form that follows the current vehicle.

The rendering goes with the industry speculation that the Dacia Duster will advance to its second generation with an evolutionary redesign. Up front, the sleek headlamps and grille pattern are inspired by the Dacia Sandero Stepway and the bumper should get completely redesigned. The sides won't change as much the front and rear, though. At the rear, changes should include redesigned vertical tail lamps, tailgate and bumper. The low-cost SUV will grow in length from 4.3 metres to 4.4 metres.

The current Duster has a spartan interior and improvements in this dimension would be the biggest talking point. Expect an upgrade in quality of materials, a more stylish dashboard, new infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as reworked ergonomics.

The 2018 Dacia Duster will utilise the proven B0/Logan platform which is Dacia's biggest strength. Also continuing, is the 5-seat seating layout. However, earlier reports speculate on a three-row version joining the range next year. Complete changes to the engine line-up are currently unknown, but the recently inducted 1.2-litre TCe petrol engine will continue and a 1.6-litre dCi diesel engine is said to replace the 1.5-litre dCi diesel engine.

Like now, Duster buyers should get an optional four-wheel drive system in the most expensive variants.

The 2018 Dacia Duster will debut at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA 2017) that opens September 12 and could go on sale in Romania in January 2018. UK sales of the sub-£10,000 SUV are said to commence in Spring 2018 (March-May 2018).

Expect the new Duster's digital debut in late August or early September.
