A Team-BHP reader has shared spyshots of a 2018 Mahindra Pik-Up (2018 Mahindra Scorpio Getaway single cab) test mule on the Hyderabad-Bangalore highway. While the double cab variant could launch in India as the all new Mahindra Scorpio Getaway, the single cab variant might be exclusive to export markets such as South Africa, Australia, Latin America and Europe.

The single cab variant is more or less identical to the double-cab variant unveiled at the Automobile Barcelona auto show, sans the rear doors. It borrows the current Mahindra Scorpio‘s front fascia, featuring dual projector headlamps with LED eyebrows, new imposing radiator grille with vertical slats, modified bumpers, reshaped turn indicators, faux (side) air vents and resculpted hood. The rear-end is identical to the model it replaces

Similar to the front fascia, the interior is also a direct lift from the Scorpio SUV. It has blue backlight instrument panel, HVAC vents and controls, centre console, four-spoke steering wheel and gearshift lever. It's unclear if the single cab version will also get a touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and an automatic climate control system.

Under the hood of the 2017 Mahindra Scorpio Pik-up is a 2.2-liter mHawk turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 88 kW (120 CV/120 hp) at 4,000 rpm and 270 Nm of torque between 1,600 rpm and 2,800 rpm. Power is sent to the wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission. A Borg Warner electric shift four-wheel drive system is available as an option in top-end variants.

The Mahindra Pik-up single cab currently has a payload ranging between 1160 kg to 1250 kg in the South African spec.
