The Royal Enfield Continental GT was unveiled in November 2014.

Thailand-based Stallions Motor, a company we've not heard before and rightly so, retails a café racer motorcycle that is a remarkable impression of the Royal Enfield Continental GT 535. Called the Stallions Centaur Slam, the bike is an affordable alternative to the imported machine and is on sale since December 2015.

The Stallions Centaur is offered with standard telescopic front fork as well as optional upside down forks.

The validation of the connection with the Continental GT comes from the company's official blog which describes parts of the bike as "distinctive", "unique" and "classic" but in closing admits that the Centaur Slam is "inspired by the Royal Enfield English motorcycle."

The imitation is powered by a four-stroke, single cylinder, SOHC, air-cooled 150 cc mill, coupled to a 5-speed gearbox. The engine produces 10.8 PS of power at 8,000 rpm and 10.5 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. The fuel tank bears a similar shape as the Royal Enfield Continental GT but gets knee grips. The Stallions Centaur Slam is offered with a right side down fork up front and an optional upside down fork variant.

Rear suspension setup includes dual gas-charged springs that tries replicating the grandeur of the Paioli units seen in the stock Royal Enfield Continental GT. The yellow paint of the springs too has been copied. Brakes include discs at both ends. The Stallions Centaur Slam gets 110/70-17 specification tyre up front and a 130/70-17 unit in the rear. The Royal Enfield Continental GT is shod with premium Pirelli Sport Demon tyres.

The Stallions Centaur Slam tips the scales at 150 kg and has a ground clearance of 220 mm. Colour options include yellow, white, red, grey and black. The instrumentation panel has a twin pod layout like the source material.

The Stallions Centaur Slam is priced at THB 64,900. Despite the much lower price, we don't think Royal Enfield will be losing sleep over the Centaur Slam stealing sales of the Continental GT.
