The Brazilian-spec Renault Kwid will get the 1.0-litre flex-fuel engine paired to a 5-speed manual transmission or the Easy-R automated manual transmission.

High-resolution images with more details are still awaited, but from the images available now, it looks like the Renault Kwid for Latin America has some minor differences to the Indian-spec version on the outside. The fender cladding (front) don't have turn indicators, the ORVMs look slightly different in shape, the door moulding has a different design, comes with 14 inch gun metal alloy wheels, the door handles are body-coloured and it has a rear wiper+defogger. Inside, the central HVAC vents have multiple horizontal grille bars, the window controls are below the touchscreen and it has analogue instrument dials along with a multi-info display.

The Brazilian-spec Renault Kwid will get the 1.0-litre flex-fuel engine paired to a 5-speed manual transmission or the Easy-R automated manual transmission. The flex-fuel engine produces 79 cv (79 hp) and 10.2 kgfm (100.03 Nm) of torque (petrol)/82 cv (82 hp) and 10.5 kgfm (102.97 Nm) of torque (ethanol).

The Brazil-made Renault Kwid consists of 40% India-made parts, but is much safer than the Indian-spec version. It was reported in April that the former will undergo chassis strengthening and come equipped with more safety equipment. While the Indian-spec Renault Kwid 1.0 SCe weighs 699 kg, the Brazilian-spec Renault Kwid tips the scales at 840 kg (+141 kg). The latter also gets dual-front and side airbags as standard, as well as traction control and stability control in the AMT model.

Prices of the Brazilian-spec Kwid are expected to start from BRL 29,990 (INR 5,90,175.54), which is much higher than the entry-price of the Kwid 1L version in India (INR 3,54,312, ex-showroom).
